Perfect for fans of Tell Me Three Things and Anna and the French Kiss!
Finley and Arthur are back at boarding school and neither quite knows where the other stands—are they couple? Are they not a couple? What does one magical Christmas Eve kiss in Oklahoma mean for their relationship status? This confusion isn't helped by the re-entry of old enemies into their school lives, especially ones that may or may not be crushing on Arthur. Finley is at a loss when navigating the complexities of her new (maybe) relationship, which could very well turn into love. . . if she doesn't blow it.
So, This Is Love is a perfect read for the Valentine's Day season, or for anyone looking for a delightful romantic comedy that has just a dash of drama. Once again, Tracy Andreen has proven that no one writes a holiday rom-com like her.

Teen lovebirds return for another go 'round after So, This Is Christmas (2021). Finley Brown and Arthur Chakrabarti Watercress are back from the holidays. Over winter break in Finley's small Oklahoma hometown of Christmas, the pair started smoochin' and snugglin', but now that they're back at their boarding school in Connecticut, Arthur is giving Finley the cold shoulder. Finley's confused and annoyed: Are they a couple, or was it all just a holiday fling? In addition to Finley's romantic woes, she has to navigate her prep school's snotty rich-kid cliques, an element touched lightly upon in the previous book but brought to the forefront here. Mixing in the boarding school kids with the already large cast of characters risks scuttling the book, but White junior Finley returns to her self-absorbed status quo. The supporting cast is lacking in dimensionality, perhaps because the lead comes across as not being terribly interested in getting to know others as real people. Andreen also returns Indian and White British Arthur to his baseline characterization: smug, erudite, and annoying. The result is an overly anxious protagonist pining over an overly affected goofus. With actively frustrating characters, the narrative never gathers any steam. The honeymoon's over. (Romance. 14-18)COPYRIGHT(2022) Kirkus Reviews, ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.

Gr 8 Up-Set shortly after the events of So, This Is Christmas, this novel finds Finley, a resident of Christmas, OK, who shared a kiss with a fellow boarding school classmate and enemy turned romantic interest, Arthur, wondering where they stand. As the new semester begins and a new holiday looms over the maybe couple, will they finally be together? Or will further drama keep them apart? With the same heart and fun of the first novel, enough of the backstory is shared to give new readers or readers who may have forgotten some of the finer details of the first book an enjoyable read. There is plenty of new drama to keep readers interested. With witty back-and-forth dialogue, plenty of fun side characters, and an absolutely swoon worthy ending, this is a delightful romantic comedy. Finley has blonde hair and is cued white, and Arthur, who is British, is biracial Indian and white. VERDICT A worthy purchase for libraries where the first book was popular and holiday romance-themed reads are constantly in demand.-Molly Dettmann
