Lisa Lloyd • Lisa Lloyd is a familiar face on the Antiques Roadshow who, even after 30 years in the trade, is still drawn to anything with an echo of the past. She chats to Gary Lawrence about her life, career and collecting.

Capturing all creatures great & small • Artist Hannah Fowler has gained a reputation for her paintings of horses, the equestrian world is one that she knows well, but when Mary-Vere Parr went to meet her, she discovered an artist with a portfolio that reaches beyond the stable yard.

Flower Power at the stones • The revival of a colourful event at Stonehenge after 180 years brought echoes of the Victorian age and the emergence of the ancient monument into the county’s consciousness. Gary Lawrence looks at its history.

The volunteer rescue teams ready to respond 24/7 • Wiltshire Search and Rescue, known as WILSAR, is the county’s fourth emergency service, turning out day and night, 365 days a year, to help locate missing people – and supporting the emergency services in countless other incidents. Gary Lawrence found out more about the unsung heroes who give up their time so willingly.

Dropping in for a bird’s eye view • At the end of the First World War, whilst waiting to return home, soldiers from New Zealand decided to leave their mark by carving a giant kiwi in the chalk on Beacon Hill above Bulford. Simon Goodwin reports on the team effort to give this iconic bird a fresh look.

Making a difference to people’s lives • Former teacher Alex Reeve-Howarth volunteers as a caseworker for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity despite having no military experience. Here, she explains her role and what sparked her interest in the UK’s oldest tri-service charity.

Care and compassion in time of conflict • In November 1943, Swindon Corporation purchased Lydiard Park estate for the people of the town to provide a place of leisure, heritage, and education. As The Friends of Lydiard Park reveal, one of the estate’s first roles under new ownership was far removed from its original purpose.
