PRESS REVIEW

GRIMIC, A NEWCOMER IN 0-16.5 • We tested an attractive freestyle model, strongly inspired by a North-American prototype. A 3D printed kit, very well designed and motorized.

AUTUMN releases • Aurélien Prévot took advantage of the autumn shows to provide a panorama of the new releases expected in various industrial and artisan ranges.

An American journey • Voie Libre takes a trip across North American territory, just for a change of air and a different angle on railway modelling. With three layouts and one model for two scales/gauges, four modellers carry us away to the lands of their dreams.

Bienvenido a Puerto Borracho! • To say "We do American stuff" would be rather like saying "We do French stuff". There are as many ways of modelling American railroads as there are French secondary railways, that's something! Gary Beatty takes us on a journey through his very own America, somewhere around the Gulf of California!

One goose… No, two! for better galloping • Jellymodels has produced two versions of a Gallopin' Goose for enhancing our H0-9 layouts.

Meyers Creek How to travel long distance without stepping out of doors! • This small layout has been designed as a self-contained universe. Like a branch line, so typical of railway modelling culture in North America. Bernard Fabron invites us to join him on his journey!

The blue gold of Berland Beer Creek • The Bachmann Spectrum stock in 0n30 had helped enhance the popularity of the "great American escape". Modellers could set off for the lands of their dreams. In the case of Gérard and Frédéric, the journey ended on the North-East coast, in the Northern USA, close to Canada.

A French railway in Switzerland The 150 anniversary of the LausanneEchallens-Bercher railway • The Lausanne-Echallens-Bercher railway, located in the canton of Vaud, in Switzerland, celebrated its 150th anniversary in November 2023. This was the first metre gauge line built in the country, and today it is part of the regional express network of Vaud. Completely modernised, it carries more than 3.800,000 passengers a year between Lausanne, its suburbs and the Vaud countryside.

LEVEL CROSSINGS that double as halts and calling points on the Blanc-Argent • We had reviewed the smallest BA stations in Issue 113 of Voie Libre. The Berry and Sologne architectural variations of the Blanc-Argent stations also apply to the level crossings of the line, some of which, doubling as a halt or calling point, also feature a waiting room.

A paddle steamer with trains • A layout project that would be out of the ordinary, and why not with a steampunk flavour, not forgetting narrow gauge, of course… this was how I discussed the subject with Laurent. When I saw his project, I realized that he had gone somewhat over the top! But how delightful to set out to sea with him and indulge in a railway-themed cruise!

An electric loading crane • An attractive electric loading crane is preserved at the Musée Provençal des Transports, on the site of La Barque station,...
