Russian Quilters Association Online Exhibition • The Soul of Russia exhibition travelled to many countries and cities; Japan, America, Korea, Mexico, France, Luxembourg, Taiwan, China, Uzbekistan and Turkey. This exhibition has now been made into an online exhibition for everyone to see and enjoy without leaving your own home. Visit the website at www.quiltshow.ru/exhibition The Russian Quilters Association 2021 festival theme is Light Of Childhood, and it will be held in Russia, in the cities of Kolomna and Zaraysk, July 8-15, 2021. Visit www.quiltshow.ru for more information.

An Apple A Day • Featuring interesting novelty and geometric fabrics, with no florals, Rebecca fussy cut a variety of motifs to bring lots of personality to this masculine quilt. Apple Core is a traditional one-patch design that has come to life with a secondary pattern through the placement of the alternating dark and light fabrics.

Belle Affaire • While there are a few translations for these words, in this instance it is 'a great occasion'. Sleeping under the soothing tones of rouge and cream prints will bring a sense of mystic and serenity to your bedroom.

Meet Rachelle Denneny… • Fresh, detailed, modern and fun, Rachelle’s quilt designs offer a unique perspective on quilting. She is also the designer of an exciting new BOM which launches in the next issue of Quilters Companion.

Australian Animals • BLOCK OF THE MONTH

Domestic MACHINE QUILTING • Quilting the borders

Boro Komebukuro

A yarn about Tasmania • With its long history as a tourist destination, many Australians from the mainland have spent time enjoying the delights of Tasmania: the natural wonders, the food and wineries, the bushwalks and national parks, and the historic towns. But even if you’ve ‘done’ Tasmania in the past, you’ll want to consider a new craft-oriented tour hosted by Gaille Smith.

Flying North • Whether you wish to follow your true north, or the magnetic north, the Compass Block and Flying Geese blocks will put wind under your wings. This would be a great gift for someone embarking on their journey – encouraging them to find their true north.

Hampstead Dutch Heritage Quilt • This quilt design was inspired by a quilt that Robyn purchased from the Antique Textiles Company in Hampstead, London. It was described as an Antique Georgian/Early 19th Century Chintz Medallion design, originating from a country house in Northumberland. The original quilt was made in softer colours. Robyn chose to use a Dutch Heritage reproduction range in her version.

In a Pretty Pickle • This fabulous quilt first appeared in Quilters Companion’s sister publication, Homespun, in November 2017 (#18.11). We are sharing it here as it is definitely one of our Homespun favourites. Effortless blending of curves and spikes, and strong colour, hushed hues and gentle florals, make this a wonderful pickle to find yourself in!

Off the Shelf • Look for these great titles at your nearest book or patchwork shop.

India International Quilt Festival

Taj's Choice • This quilt has been made by hand, using templates to cut each individual shape. Therefore, it is an excellent slow stitching, portable project.
