Captain enjoys his third Coronation • Royal Navy veteran Captain Bryan Butchard celebrated his 104th birthday just six weeks before sitting down to watch the coronation. Jane Sullivan reveals more about this remarkable gentleman.

Capturing The King • Being asked to paint the first commissioned portrait of The King is an honour, but with it comes pressure, as Mary-Vere Parr discovers when she meets the artist who only had two weeks to complete the painting.

The Queen’s quiet confidante • When Queen Elizabeth II was crowned, she had six maids of honour, but Queen Camilla chose just two people to be by her side – her sister and her dearest friend the Marchioness of Lansdowne. Mary Vere-Parr talked to her about her role and the importance of their friendship.

A night with the stars • A star-studded coronation concert took place in the grounds of Windsor Castle, tickets for the event were free, with many of those receiving an invitation through their work as volunteers or through charities.
