SHE HAS BEEN A KEY PLAYER IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERAL CULTURAL ORGANISATIONS INCLUDING THE BOOMALLI ABORIGINAL ARTISTS CO-OPERATIVE. IN THE 1990S SHE WAS A COUNCIL MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL GALLERY OF AUSTRALIA. HER WORK IN CHILDREN’S LITERATURE RECEIVED THE PRESTIGIOUS DROMKEEN MEDAL IN 2009.
