ICELANDIC ADVENTURES Exploring Water in its Many Forms • Ice climbing, SUP surfing, paddleboard touring, freediving. Four seemingly unrelated sports, all interconnected through their reliance on water. Jim Martinello recounts a special mission in Iceland designed to capture and experience the elements of earth, air, fire, and water. Fueled by both work and passion, Jim and his friends seek to understand water's hold on our bodies and souls.

THE WISH LIST

Downwinding The Columbia River Gorge • The strong winds that whip through the surrounding basalt cliffs attract many a wind and paddlesport enthusiast to the Columbia River Gorge. The endless glide as you travel upriver from swell to swell, the wind at your back, and the towering peaks of the Cascade range above make a downwinder in "the Gorge" something special indeed. Add in consistently epic conditions, stunning scenery, and a world-class competition scene, and you'll understand why the Columbia River Gorge is one locale for every downwind enthusiast's bucket list.

THE WISH LIST

Undam the Klam BEFORE AND AFTER THE LARGEST DAM REMOVAL IN HISTORY FROM THE RIVER RUNNER’S PERSPECTIVE • The four Lower Klamath River dams are slated for removal in the largest dam removal project in history by 2024. But for now, four massive hydroelectric dams block the natural flow of the river as it makes its way from Crater Lake, Oregon, to the Pacific Ocean in California, burying this wild river under reservoirs and dramatically impacting the way of life for those dependent on its waters. Spencer Lacy and crew had the ambitious plan to paddle this section of the Klamath to the ocean, not once but twice. First, in hopes of gaining perspective of a river stunted and segmented, and second, to witness a river reborn.

THE WISH LIST

DI THE DORDOGNE INTÉGRALE A race unlike any other • Race 130 km downriver in a single day? Some would say impossible; others would say, you must be talking of the Dordogne Intégrale! Learn more about the race unlike any other and why SUP has found its racing footing on the Dordogne River.
