Magazine

VolksWorld is Britain's best-selling magazine dedicated to the whole air-cooled VW scene and a must-buy for all fans of the legendary vehicles, particularly the iconic Beetle. VolksWorld takes pride in going to extraordinary lengths to bring its readers the most outstanding and fascinating features packed full of the very best photography and information that cannot be found anywhere else.

The Italian job • After an epic road trip, Knighty questions why driving in the UK is so manic

VolksWorld

STARTER MOTOR • Email your news, thoughts, opinions and products to VolksWorld.ed@kelsey.co.uk

The pleasure principle • Owning a well-known car built by someone else can be bittersweet. Jim Dix owns cars like this, so decided it was time to build one that was his from the outset

LOW profile • The headline might describe the wild tyres, but not the effect this show-winning Volks Rod has had on the worldwide VW community

Roll another one • We partake in the 7th annual Ottinger’s Moab Caravan in Utah, recreating the trips offered in the 1960s by the Southeastern Utah Taxi Service

Learning CURVE • Buying a cheap, dismantled Bus when you’re 17 is a recipe for hard work, amongst other things. But perseverance, together with a nudge from mum, saw this one over the finish line, 15 years later

BEST OF British • This delightful, right-hand drive, UK-spec ragtop has a special place in Nik Keatley’s heart, and Mark Walker’s too, as he had a large hand in restoring it!

Fine time machine • Three decades, two paint jobs and another interior on the way, this sweet Lowlight turned into a whole lot more than Steve Richardson set out to build. In 1991!

The best life • Better known as Burly, Barry Burlile has been involved in just about every aspect of the VW scene since the 1960s. From street and race dune buggies, through Baja Bugs and Volks Rods to Bonneville racers

Lock, stock and two seized barrels • If your Bay Window Bus has a bunch of mismatched keys, or sticky locks, sorting it out can be a surprisingly therapeutic job

Doubled-sided take • Can’t decide whether to restore or not? Bob offers a best of both worlds’ solution

The FREDDY FILES Fred's not dead • March this year saw more than 4,000 VW fans from across Europe head for Ninove in Belgium to celebrate a quarter of a century of air-cooled gatherings

PROJECT DEFICIT SYNDROME • Mark Walker talks himself out of another project...
