Hands-on: The four-point plan for fat AI vocals THAT‘S HOW EVERYONE GETS VOCALS, RAPS & LYRICS • Vocals are the ultimate element for any song - catchy and unique, the perfect mix. But at the same time super hard to find if you don‘t sing yourself or know someone who can. Sure, there are sample packs, but they‘re not exclusive and rarely contain lyrics for entire songs. But, salvation is here! On the following pages, we‘ve put together a four-point plan for you to use AI to write good lyrics, get inspiration for recording and enjoy professional raps and vocals. And all that for a very low budget!

Hands-on: Step 1 of the four-point plan Find inspiration & lyrics • ChatGPT is very popular at the moment and Google‘s Bard is the next „questionable encyclopedia“. But the AIs not only know clever answers to all kinds of questions, they can also - as in our Melody Masterclass special in the last issue – compose melodies or entire works that can then be loaded into the DAW as MIDI files. But even this is not the end of the story, because the helpers can also write entire song lyrics and give inspiring tips when you‘re running out of ideas.

Hands-on: Step 2 of the four-point plan How lyrics become vocals • The lyrics are ready, the only thing missing is someone to sing them. If you don‘t do it yourself and there happens to be no one else around, the AI can step in again. Conveniently, you even have the choice between raps and vocals. We‘ll show you both right away …

Hands-on: Step 3 of the four-point plan How lyrics become vocals • Uberduck and Tuna use ready-made rhythms and melodies and are therefore a good introduction to the „virtual building“ of vocals. But how about going one step further and getting full control instead – maybe even for free? Works too, the Synthesizer V makes it possible!

Hands-on: Step 4 of the four-point plan Now the vox become exclusive • With a bit of experimenting with the lyrics, the tools presented above can produce quite usable vocals. But they are not yet really cool. Exactly: not yet. This will change on the following page!

Talking to Vincent Lee How the AI learns from you • Songwriter, music producer and film composer...
