GATHERINGS

LAVAL, a very rewarding show • The traditional Model Railway Show organized in Laval by the «Association des modélistes ferroviaires de la Mayenne» was held on 30th September and 1st October 2023.

BACK ON THE MRL

A small liberated PÉCHOT • To serve on the network of the Ministry of Liberated Regions, a Péchot locomotive was a must! Here is one in 1/76 scale on 9mm gauge track, with however a touch of modeller's licence!

Back to Champagne, FOUR YEARS LATER • In Issue 111 of Voie Libre, we told you about the genesis of the 60 cm gauge network in the Champagne region in 1915. In this article, we return to the Marne area, four years later, to tell you about the civilian destiny of these former military lines.

The «croisées libérées»* • Having the idea of a layout is not enough. Opportunity and material items are also required to implement the project. To achieve this, 10 years had to pass, together with a switch from 0-16.5 to 00-9…

Railways of the Blanzy mines • With such a wide variety of railway facilities on a single mining site, Blanzy in Burgundy looks like an open book dedicated to mining haulage technologies.

Leverda-Pairau A journey to OSTralia • The Escadrille Saint-Michel is rather like a vaccine, from time to time, you need a booster shot! This time, we return to the former GDR, much to our delight.

Figures IN 0 SCALE • On his layouts, Gilbert Gribi composes many cameo scenes featuring off-the-shelf figures. In this article, he tells us about the different phases of the work of a railway miniature figure artist.

Just a few SHADES OF GREY granite! • There are plenty of recipes around for modelling a cliff. François Fontana shows you how he approached the question, using basic materials and a series of small, simple gestures, to evoke a grey granite cliff.

SPRUCING UP the scenery • Subject to the ravages of time, the synthetic scenic products found on our layouts do not always age gracefully. Sometimes, they need a little sprucing up to give the scene a new lease of life.

Let there be light* • Illumination on digitally controlled model railways is easy to accomplish. With analogue controlled systems it's another story.

In your workshop THE T50, a P'tit Kit Voie Libre model • Voie Libre has releases a model in 0 scale narrow gauge, namely a Billard T50D, priced at ca. 190 euros. Given my attraction for sugar beet railways, this was a must-have!

Osiris • Franck Combe has become a familiar name in the pages of Voie Libre. With this project, he takes us to Egypt, on the site of archeological diggings, with a bit of pop culture throw in. Let's open the dream box!
