The Virtual Great Wisconsin Quilt Show • The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show has welcomed thousands of quilting enthusiasts to Madison, Wisconsin, each September for the past 15 years. This year, due to the pandemic, a virtual show was held instead. As the organisers said, “The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show is honoured to present a safe, virtual event that allows us all to Escape, Create and Celebrate without leaving our homes.” The show included a 10-category, juried and judged quilt contest and exhibition. All of this was available via an online experience. Following are some of the prize winners. You can see all of them online at https://quiltshow.com

Sweet Candy • Lashings of sweet pinks and sultry reds turn the traditional Monkey Wrench block into a sweet and sultry quilt that is simple and quick to construct.

Hope • After a year of uncertainty and anxiety, Leanne has named this quilt Hope as a symbol of her hopes for an easier time ahead – sentiments many can identify with.

Molli Sparkles • Fun, vibrant, artistic, thought-provoking — all perfectly suitable words to describe the work of Molli Sparkles. Beginning his journey as many do, from humble beginnings, Molli brings a beautiful energy to his quilting that sparks unique emotions and inspiration.

Dresden Square • Reproduction 1930s fabrics are popular with many quilters — and are sure to be found in many stashes! So dig in and get started with the classic Dresden Plate block and four patches to make this large quilt.

Quilters’ Tour of Japan • Splendid gardens, seasonal foliage, temples, shrines, traditional arts and crafts … Japan has it all. Later this year (November 17-December 4) you can explore some of the most impressive traditional textile and stitchery destinations with Michelle Marvig.
