HISTORY IN THE MAKING 75 YEARS ON • On the old A47 road through the village of Castor lies the old yard of H Gibbons & Sons, a very famous threshing contractor who had engines into the 1950s. There is a famous picture taken in 1948 outside the yard by the thatched Fitzwilliam Arms featuring Clayton & Shuttleworth Rambler. Thanks to the efforts of Martin Gibbons and others the picture was recreated 75 year on. Old Glory was invited to record this amazing occasion on Saturday 8 July.

THE FASCINATING BACK-STORY OF BRIDSON’S FOWLER ROLLER NO. 16366 • Sometimes, one comes across something on one’s travels which is not expected. This is the account of the discovery of one such historic artefact - a Fowler steam roller - which was previously owned by a family firm which, when it left them in the middle of the last war, believed that it had gone forever....
