There is a new team running the show under chairman Roger Jackson and Terry Shaw, chairman of the NVTEC Nottingham Vintage Tractor & Engine Club, and it somehow gave the show a refreshed approach in more ways than one even if the formula is similar to before.

ROSIE THE RAMBLER • Master mechanic and more, Colin Anton tells us what’s involved in keeping a 1904 Rambler on the road for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run.

WILSON-PILCHER STANDS OUT ON LONDON TO BRIGHTON • After so much rain leading up to the RM Sotheby’s London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2023 and remembering the conditions on last year’s event things took a turn for the better on Sunday 5 November when the sun came out and dry weather was enjoyed by all the competitors, says the editor.

A STEAM ROLLER CALLED HENGIST • Part 2 of a tale of toil and teamwork… Dave Vaughan continues the story of Aveling & Porter No. 8455.

BIGGEST MINIATURE DISPLAY OF THE YEAR • The 2023 Driffield Steam Fair in 12-13 August saw a superb collection of miniature steam engines in attendance, with over 50 engines on display.
